On January 23, 2022, the body of an unidentified female, later identified as Elizabeth Matlock, was discovered in Knoxville, Tennessee. Despite efforts to locate her next of kin, authorities were unable to find any surviving family members to claim her remains. As a result, an indigent cremation was arranged, handling the remains in a manner reserved for individuals without identified family or financial resources to afford private burial services.
