On the evening of April 19, 2022, a violent incident occurred at a residence in Normandy, a municipality within St. Louis County, Missouri, claiming the life of a 30-year-old male named Eugene M. Davis. Officers from the Normandy Police Department were dispatched to the 7700 block of Woodstock Road at approximately 9:45 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired in the area.
Upon their arrival at the scene, law enforcement officials entered the home and discovered Davis suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso.
Emergency medical personnel transported the wounded man to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment, but he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. The Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis was subsequently activated to assist the Normandy Police Department with the homicide investigation. Detectives canvassed the neighborhood and spoke with individuals who had been near the scene when the gunfire erupted.
Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle speeding away from the residence immediately following the shooting, but they were unable to provide investigators with a detailed description of the car or its occupants. At the time of the initial inquiry, authorities had not identified any specific suspects, and no arrests were immediately reported in connection with the slaying.
