In the summer of 2022, a quiet neighborhood in Kansas City, Missouri, was jolted by the tragic death of one of its elderly residents. Rafael Avila-Mendez, a 78-year-old Hispanic/Latino male, was found deceased in his home on the evening of Saturday, July 23rd.
