On a summer afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri, a transaction that began with the intention of a sale quickly spiraled into violence, leaving two young men dead. The incident unfolded on August 7, 2022, when 18-year-old Xaivon McKinzey, a male, accompanied by his friend, 18-year-old Jabari Ellis, met with a man at a Phillips 66 gas station located at 8111 E. 87th Street in Raytown. The purpose of the meeting was the sale of a firearm.
