In the quiet, early hours of Christmas Day in 1988, a selfless act of camaraderie would end in a brutal and unsolved mystery. Lieutenant Thurman Earl Sharp, a 55-year-old veteran of the Marion County Sheriff's Office, had offered to work the late shift at an off-duty security job to allow a younger officer to be with his family for the holiday. This decision placed him at the Presidential Industrial Park on Priority Way West Drive in Indianapolis, where he would tragically lose his life.
