Eric Paul Bane, aged 37, was found dead on December 30, 2014, on North Lasalle Street on the near-east side of Indianapolis. Bane had been shot in the chest, and despite efforts by Indianapolis Fire Department responders to revive him, he did not survive. The shooting occurred early in the morning, around 7:30 a.m., and no immediate motive was identified.
