On May 3, 2014, a violent incident occurred in Muncie, Indiana, claiming the life of 29-year-old Gary Wayne Barbour Jr., a Black male resident of the city. Officers from the Muncie Police Department were dispatched to a public housing complex in the early morning hours after receiving reports of gunfire.
