In the early morning hours of April 10, 2015, the life of 22-year-old Johnnie Dixon III was tragically cut short in Gary, Indiana. A resident of the city, Johnnie, a Black male, was discovered lifeless outside an apartment in the St. John Homes complex located on the 2200 block of Carolina Street around 1:20 a.m. The events leading to his death began with the sound of 18 to 20 gunshots piercing the night, a chilling prelude to the discovery of his body.
