In a tragic turn of events, 55-year-old David Manz, a male resident of Brookville, Indiana, lost his life in a shooting incident that unfolded on the evening of Saturday, April 2, 2016. The violent altercation took place at a home located in the 10000 block of St. Peters Road, a rural area in Franklin County. When Indiana State Police officers responded to a call about possible shots fired shortly before 8 p.m., they discovered Manz deceased inside the residence.
The investigation into
the shooting revealed that it was the result of a dispute between Manz and his roommate, 60-year-old Thomas E. Logan. The two men allegedly shot at each other during the altercation at the home they shared. Logan also sustained injuries during the exchange of gunfire and was subsequently transported to a hospital in Indianapolis for medical treatment. Authorities stated that they were not seeking any other suspects in connection with the incident.
Following the investigation, Thomas E. Logan was arrested and faced a series of charges related to the death of David Manz. The charges brought against him included murder, aggravated battery, involuntary manslaughter, and reckless homicide. In addition to these serious felonies, Logan was also charged with maintaining a common nuisance and misdemeanor marijuana possession. He was taken into custody and held at the Franklin County Jail without bond. An autopsy was scheduled to be performed on David Manz to officially determine the cause of death.
