In the early morning hours of March 14, 2016, a quiet suburban street in Indianapolis was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Nerva Singleton, a 40-year-old mother of five, was returning to her home on Dobbs Ferry Court when she was fatally shot on her own front steps. The tragedy unfolded around 4 a.m., leaving a family and a community in shock. Four of her children, ranging in age from two to 24, were inside the house at the time of the incident.
