In the early morning hours of June 21, 2018, the life of 21-year-old Derricko Rogers, a Black male, was cut short by gunfire in Gary, Indiana. The fatal incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. inside an apartment building located in the 200 block of East Ridge Road in the city's Glen Park section. Rogers, a resident of Gary, was not a resident of the apartment where the shooting took place.
