The quiet community of Shirley, Indiana, was shattered on the night of July 26, 2018, when authorities were called to a residence in the 2400 block of North Mechanicsburg Road. Law enforcement officials arrived to find a devastating scene outside the family home near the garage. There, they discovered the lifeless body of 42-year-old female Amanda Langdon alongside her 8-year-old daughter, Kendal Langdon. Both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
The tragedy was compounded by the discovery of a third body within thirty feet of the mother and child, identified as Amanda's husband, Justin Langdon.
Investigators quickly determined that the violence was the result of a double murder-suicide committed by Justin Langdon.
