On the evening of July 26, 2018, authorities in Henry County, Indiana, responded to a distressing scene at a residence near the rural town of Shirley. Law enforcement officers arrived at a home in the 2400 block of North Mechanicsburg Road, where they discovered the bodies of three individuals located near a garage on the property. Among the deceased was 8-year-old female Kendall Lynn Langdon, who had suffered fatal injuries.
Her mother, Amanda Langdon, was also found dead at the scene, marking a devastating event for the small community situated about 30 miles east of Indianapolis.
The investigation by the Henry County Sheriff's Office determined that the deaths were the result of a double murder-suicide committed by Kendall's father, Justin Langdon. Evidence collected at the scene indicated that Justin had used a 9mm handgun to shoot his wife and daughter before turning the weapon on himself. The county coroner confirmed that all three individuals died from gunshot wounds.
