On January 1, 2019, Tommie Griffin, a 39-year-old resident of Anderson, Indiana, was found shot to death inside his vehicle. The incident occurred near Ninth and Chestnut streets at approximately 8:30 a.m. According to the coroner, Griffin had been shot multiple times. The police were initially uncertain whether Griffin was specifically targeted or if the shooting was a random act.
