In the winter of 2017, the life of 17-year-old Montel Ligon was tragically cut short in Indianapolis, Indiana. An African-American male, Montel was found shot to death on Sunday, February 26, 2017. The discovery was made on the east side of the city, in the vicinity of a church situated on the 3100 block of East 10th Street. His death contributed to what was one of the deadliest years for homicides in the city.
