In the spring of 2017, a young man's life was cut short by violence in Indianapolis. Lance “L.J.” Arnell Washington Jr., a 21-year-old male, was fatally shot on the night of Wednesday, March 29, 2017. He was rushed to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day, on March 30, 2017. At the time of his death, Washington was a father and had graduated from the Excel Center, with aspirations of becoming a barber and opening his own chain of shops.
