On the evening of August 21, 2017, a Monday, 30-year-old Samuel Ghebremichael, a Black male, was shot and killed on the northeast side of Indianapolis. The incident occurred at approximately 9:45 p.m. in the 3800 block of North Emerson Avenue. When officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived at the scene, they found Ghebremichael with gunshot wounds.
