In the spring of 2021, the life of 21-year-old DaShay Renee Thomas, a Black/African American female from Indianapolis, Indiana, was tragically cut short. On the evening of May 26, 2021, she was discovered with a gunshot wound in the 10000 block of John Marshall Drive North on the city's east side. Despite the immediate response of emergency personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
