Turner's death added to a record year of violence in the city, which faced a surge in homicides, marking 2017 as the deadliest year on record for Indianapolis. The homicide occurred in the early hours near the 3500 block of North Mission Drive. Reports indicate that Turner’s death resulted from gun violence, and as of the latest updates, the case remains unsolved.
