Walter Benyon, a 25-year-old resident of Indianapolis, was fatally shot on December 18, 2017. His death occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the east side of the city, specifically in the 5300 block of Butler Terrace. This tragic incident was particularly notable as it marked the 150th homicide in Indianapolis for the year, tying the city with its previous record for the highest number of murders in a single year.
