Jacob Tyler McClanahan, a 24-year-old volunteer firefighter from Corydon, Indiana, tragically lost his life on May 16, 2022. McClanahan was fatally shot while attempting to assist a stranded motorist on State Road 135, just south of Palmyra, Indiana. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when McClanahan, along with a friend, stopped to help Justin Moore, a 31-year-old motorist from Owensboro, Kentucky, whose vehicle had run out of gas and was partially blocking the roadway.
