Corporal Clarence Jordan McClary, a 28-year-old officer with the Alexandria Police Department, was tragically killed on March 17, 1935, in the mountains south of Leesburg, Virginia. McClary was part of a posse comprising federal, state, and Alexandria officers searching for several men involved in a violent incident the previous day.
