On January 29, 1993, in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, taxi driver Hugh E. Morrison was tragically murdered during a series of violent crimes committed by Ronald Lee Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald's crime spree began early that morning when he broke into the Chatham residence of Coy M. White. There, he abducted and raped 13-year-old Claudia White. When Coy White returned home, Fitzgerald fatally shot him.
