In the spring of 2005, the life of 19-year-old Terrance D. Everett was tragically cut short on a Monday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia. A Black/African American male, Terrance, who was also known by his nickname 'T-Dog,' became a victim of gun violence on April 25th. Around 4:30 p.m., the Richmond Police were called to the 2100 block of North 23rd Street, where they found Terrance on the ground with a gunshot wound.
Despite any efforts to help him, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into Terrance's death began immediately, but the case quickly grew cold. Over the years, detectives have received some information, but it has not been enough to lead to an arrest. The identity of any suspect or suspects remains unknown to the public, and no arrests have ever been made in connection with his killing. The case is now considered a cold case homicide, one of many that linger in the city's records, leaving a family without answers and a community with a sense of unresolved justice.
Years after his death, Terrance's case has not been entirely forgotten by law enforcement. In an effort to generate new leads, the Metro Richmond Crime Stoppers highlighted his unsolved murder in 2020, appealing to the public for any information that might finally break the silence surrounding the case. They continue to offer a cash reward for tips that lead to an arrest, holding out hope that someone in the community has the key to solving the long-standing mystery of who killed Terrance Everett and why. His family, including his mother, stepfather, father, and numerous siblings, were left to mourn his sudden and violent death, with a funeral service held on May 5, 2005, yet they still await the day when those responsible are held accountable.
