In Roanoke, Virginia, a tragic event unfolded on Monday, March 18, 2013, leading to the death of 31-year-old Erin Elizabeth Thomas. Thomas was discovered with a fatal gunshot wound inside her home. The circumstances of her death were determined by investigators to be a murder-suicide.
