In the summer of 2015, a heart-wrenching incident in Roanoke, Virginia, resulted in the death of a toddler. Aryah Leigh Lipford, a 23-month-old Black female, was fatally shot on the evening of July 16, 2015. The young girl and her mother, Racheal Quesenberry, were both discovered with gunshot wounds outside a residence on Oakland Boulevard NW shortly before 9:30 p.m. Both were transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where Aryah was pronounced dead from her injuries.
