Matthias J. Washington, aged 34, tragically lost his life on August 18, 2015, in Richmond, Virginia. He was shot and killed in the 2800 block of Dunn Avenue, near Hotchkiss Field. His death was a significant loss to his family and community, as he was survived by his daughter, Skyy ShaVan Washington, his parents, Myrna Gale Jefferson Washington and Elder Reese Washington, Sr., and several siblings.
