On the evening of April 2, 2016, Christina Fisher, a 34-year-old mother of three, was tragically shot and killed in her Leesburg, Virginia, residence. The incident, which occurred around 6:15 p.m. on Nansemond Street, was the culmination of a domestic dispute. Fisher’s 15-year-old daughter was unfortunately present in the home at the time of the shooting.
After sustaining multiple gunshot wounds to her upper torso, Fisher was airlifted to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The ensuing investigation quickly led authorities to her ex-boyfriend, Darrick Lee Lewis, a 30-year-old resident of Middleburg, Virginia. It was determined that Lewis had entered Fisher's home, and following an argument, he shot her before fleeing the scene. The relationship between Fisher and Lewis was described as having ended prior to the incident, and it was noted that Fisher had secured a protective order against him. The former couple had two children together.
Darrick Lee Lewis was apprehended by the Leesburg Police Department and taken into custody on the Sunday following the shooting. He was subsequently charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and violation of a protective order. Following his arrest, Lewis was held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
