Ian Noah Butler, a 16-year-old resident of Colonial Heights, Virginia, tragically lost his life on December 24, 2017. Ian was a freshman at Colonial Heights High School and was known for his love of sports, especially baseball, and his caring nature. On Christmas Eve, Ian was at home with his best friend when a man arrived at the house, pulled out a gun, and pointed it at Ian's friend. In a heroic act, Ian intervened to protect his friend and was fatally shot.
