Lucas B. Dowell, a 28-year-old Virginia State Police trooper, tragically lost his life on February 4, 2019, during a drug investigation in Farmville, Virginia. Dowell was a member of the Virginia State Police Tactical Team, which was assisting the Piedmont Regional Drug and Gang Task Force in executing a search warrant at a residence on Cumberland Road, just outside the Farmville town limits.
