Elizabeth Marie Vanmeter, a 22-year-old woman from Elizabethton, Tennessee, tragically lost her life on February 28, 2019, in Mendota, Virginia. Elizabeth, known as Marie, was one of three women killed by James Michael Wright, a 23-year-old carnival worker. Wright confessed to the murders, claiming that each killing was accidental. Marie's family was devastated by the news, describing her as a trusting and independent person who had been adopted into their family at the age of eight.
