On a tragic day in March of 2021, the life of 18-year-old JaQui Kameel Love was cut short in Newport News, Virginia. The young man, a senior at Denbigh High School with plans to pursue the culinary arts after his upcoming graduation, was found the victim of gun violence on March 22nd. Known affectionately as 'Jah' and 'Smiley' by his loved ones, he was remembered for his infectious smile and kindhearted nature.

led to a significant development in the case. A 20-year-old man from Williamsburg was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting.
