In what has been described as a heartbreaking tragedy by her family, 38-year-old Whitney Resendiz was killed by her estranged husband, Eric Resendiz, in a murder-suicide on July 17, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma. The couple had recently separated, and Whitney had returned to their home to retrieve some of her personal belongings when the fatal incident occurred. Eric Resendiz shot his wife before taking his own life. The bodies were discovered by another individual who then alerted the authorities.
