On April 3, 2023, 68-year-old Carla Kay Arrington was found deceased in her Owasso, Oklahoma, home in what authorities have determined to be a murder-suicide. A White female, Arrington was discovered alongside her husband, 70-year-old Gerald Arrington, at their residence near 161st East Avenue and Highway 20. Investigators from the Rogers County Sheriff's Office, who responded to the scene on that Monday morning, concluded that Gerald Arrington shot and killed his wife before turning the weapon
on himself. Both individuals were found with gunshot wounds inside their home.
Due to the nature of the incident, no arrests were made in connection with Carla's death, as the primary suspect was also deceased. The motive behind the tragic event was not publicly disclosed by investigators. A celebration of both Carla and Gerald's lives was held on April 13, 2023, at the First Baptist Church in Owasso.
Carla, born on October 13, 1954, in Ark City, Kansas, was remembered for her passion for helping others and her love of baking. She had retired in 2016 after a four-decade career with Conoco Phillips. She was known for her thoughtful gesture of writing handwritten cards for all occasions. Carla and Gerald had been married for 49 years and were described as having a relationship filled with love and laughter. They are survived by their two children and four grandchildren.
