Jahmar Latravern Graves, a 34-year-old man from Baltimore, tragically lost his life on the night of April 2, 2021, following a violent altercation in Manassas, Virginia. The fatal incident unfolded in the parking lot of the Manassas Mall, where an argument escalated into a double shooting. When Prince William County Police arrived at the scene at approximately 11:16 p.m., they discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were immediately transported to a local hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Graves succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The second victim, a 22-year-old man, survived the attack.
The investigation into the shooting was a collaborative effort involving the Prince William County Police Department, the FBI, and the Northern Virginia Safe Streets/HIDTA Task Force. Their inquiries led to the identification of four suspects. The first arrest was made on April 21, when Aliquan Gary Gill, 23, of Woodbridge, was taken into custody. He was charged with murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Concurrently, two 17-year-old juveniles from Woodbridge, a male and a female, were also arrested and faced murder charges.
The final suspect, Christian Starr Haynes, a 24-year-old from Woodbridge, remained at large for a short period. However, on April 29, he turned himself in to the authorities without incident. Haynes was subsequently charged with murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. All adult suspects were held without bond at the Prince William-Manassas Regional Adult Detention Center, while the two juveniles were secured at the Prince William Juvenile Detention Center. The suspects had fled the scene of the crime before law enforcement arrived, prompting a thorough investigation that ultimately led to their apprehension.
