On a late Wednesday evening in Accomac, Virginia, the life of 38-year-old Chikira Antrice Fletcher, a Black female, was tragically cut short. On November 10, 2021, deputies from the Accomack County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of a gunshot victim in the 22000 block of Daugherty Road. Upon their arrival at approximately 11:06 p.m., they discovered Fletcher unresponsive.
Emergency services transported her to Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital, but her injuries proved fatal, and she
was pronounced dead. Her body was subsequently sent to the Norfolk Medical Examiner's Office to determine the official cause of death. The initial reports confirmed that she had sustained a fatal gunshot wound.
The Accomack County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Virginia State Police, immediately launched a homicide investigation into Fletcher's death. Authorities have appealed to the public for any information that might lead to an arrest in the case. However, despite the ongoing investigation, no suspects have been publicly identified, and no arrests have been made in connection with her murder. The case remains an active and open investigation as her family and community await answers and justice for her untimely death.
