In the winter of 2022, a dispute in a Chesapeake, Virginia home escalated to a fatal conclusion. Roger Hardy, a 69-year-old man, was shot and killed on February 6th. The events leading to his death began when another man, 33-year-old Thomas Ireland, became disorderly and was removed from the residence on Timber Lane where Hardy was also present.

Not long after being escorted out, Ireland returned to the home, this time armed with a gun. He proceeded to shoot Hardy in the chest, inflicting ...
