On a Monday afternoon, the 21st of November, 2022, the life of 29-year-old Tynisa Tony, a Black/African American female from Richmond, Virginia, was tragically cut short. First responders were called to the 900 block of St. Paul Street at approximately 4:15 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Tynisa on the sidewalk, suffering from a gunshot wound.
She was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention, but unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries and passed away.
The investigation into the untimely death of Tynisa Tony led Richmond Police to a suspect. Alfontasia Elleby, a 25-year-old resident of Richmond, was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting. The circumstances that led to the incident have not been fully disclosed to the public as the investigation continues.
Following her arrest, Alfontasia Elleby was formally charged with murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. The community has been left seeking answers and justice for Tynisa as law enforcement officials continue their work to bring the case to a resolution.
