James Edward Clarke, aged 59, tragically lost his life on December 24, 2022, in Ashland, Virginia. The incident occurred on Christmas Eve, when Ashland Police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex on East Omni Court around 7:37 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found Clarke suffering from a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect, Eric Joe Key, also 59 and from Richmond, was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder and the use of a firearm
