In the late summer of 1949, a wave of violence shattered the peace of Camden, New Jersey, forever marking the date of September 6th with tragedy. On that day, Helga Kautzach Zegrino, a 29-year-old woman, became one of the victims in a devastating shooting spree that would later be recognized as the first mass murder in American history.
