Gary Williams, a 48-year-old man, and his wife Tina, 46, were tragically killed in their own home. Their lives were cut short by their neighbor, a police officer named Edward Lutes, who had embarked on a shooting spree. The tragic story began with an accusation Lutes had made against a neighbor, Dominick Galliano, alleging the assault of a family member. Gary Williams had testified on behalf of Galliano during the subsequent trial. This act of standing by his friend appears to have been the catalyst for the deadly events that followed. Lutes, reportedly harboring deep-seated anger, first went to the Galliano residence, where he shot and killed Dominick, his wife Gail, and their son Christopher.
