In the winter of 2006, the city of Trenton was troubled by a series of violent acts that shook the community. On December 4th, a young Black man named Breon Hakeem Blackshear, who was 24 years old, became a victim of this ongoing violence. His life was cut short in an alley off of New Rose Street, near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, a place that would become a memorial to a life lost too soon.
