On a summer day in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the life of James Derrick Jordan Jr., a 25-year-old male known affectionately as 'Tink,' was tragically cut short. On August 26, 2012, Jordan, who was known for his love of rap music and his natural comedic talent, was fatally shot on Absecon Boulevard. He was a beloved figure among his family and friends, often seen as a protector to those he held dear.
The investigation into his murder led authorities to Keshaun Earley, who was arrested later the same day at his home in Hamilton Township. During questioning, Earley maintained that he had been at home all day, an alibi that would become a central point of contention in the legal proceedings that followed.
The prosecution built a case against him, relying on the testimony of several eyewitnesses who identified Earley as the shooter.
The subsequent trial, which lasted for three weeks, saw the prosecution challenge Earley's alibi, presenting evidence and witness testimony that contradicted his claims. The defense, in turn, presented cell phone records that placed Earley's phone in Mays Landing at the time of the shooting. However, the prosecution successfully argued that Earley had intentionally left his phone in Mays Landing to create a false alibi.
