In the early hours of Christmas morning in 2013, a tragic event unfolded in Plainfield, New Jersey, forever altering the lives of one family. Rashad Daye, a 25-year-old male, was fatally shot in the area of Park Avenue and East Ninth Street. The incident occurred at approximately 5:33 a.m., shattering the peace of the holiday.
Plainfield police officers were the first to arrive on the scene after hearing gunshots. They discovered Daye suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was immediately rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick in a desperate attempt to save his life. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Rashad Daye succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. At the time of his death, he was a resident of Green Brook and worked for Amazon.
