In the late summer evening of August 29, 2016, the life of 30-year-old Kyell C. Jeter of Maplewood, New Jersey, was tragically cut short. On a Monday night, at approximately 10:20 p.m., Jersey City police were dispatched to Woodlawn Avenue, between Ocean and Garfield avenues, following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered a harrowing scene. Jeter was found unresponsive, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
