On Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 2017, a burst of gunfire shattered the evening quiet in a Newark, New Jersey neighborhood, leaving one man dead and another wounded. Terrance Harris, a 46-year-old Black/African American male, was fatally shot in the incident, which occurred at approximately 8 p.m. in the 400 block of South Orange Avenue.
