An evening in August turned tragic in Bloomfield, New Jersey, when a man from Newark lost his life to gunfire. On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, Kevin Roberts, a 47-year-old Black / African American male, was in the vicinity of 12 First Avenue at approximately 8:00 p.m. when he was shot. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and Roberts was quickly transported to University Hospital for medical attention.
