In the quiet community of Villas, New Jersey, a devastating scene unfolded within a home on Cardinal Avenue. On January 4, 2021, Kristin Ryan, a 39-year-old Caucasian female, was found deceased in what authorities would later describe as a tragic murder-suicide. The discovery was made by officers from the Lower Township Police Department who were conducting a wellness check at the residence.
Inside the home, police also found the body of Kristin’s husband, 45-year-old Rick Ryan. The ensuing investigation by the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office determined that Rick Ryan had shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself.
Investigators believe the incident stemmed from a domestic dispute and have assured the public that it was not a random act of violence.
