In the summer of 2019, a tragic and violent series of events led to the death of Jerand Deon Jackson in Birmingham, Alabama. On June 19, Jackson was involved in a traffic accident when his vehicle collided with a motorcycle. In the chaotic moments that followed, individuals in a second vehicle seized the opportunity to carjack Jackson.
