Yahsinn Robinson, an 18-year-old male, was fatally shot on the night of April 22, 2021, just outside his home on Barrington Lane in Willingboro, New Jersey. A senior at Willingboro High School, he was returning from his part-time job shortly before 11:30 p.m. when the incident occurred. Upon hearing gunshots, his mother called the police and then attempted to call her son to warn him, but he didn't answer. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Yahsinn Robinson with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into the shooting revealed that it stemmed from a long-running dispute between a group of individuals from Pemberton and certain residents of the Buckingham Park section of Willingboro where Robinson lived. However, authorities have consistently stated that Yahsinn Robinson was not involved in this conflict in any way. Described by his mother as a 'big ol' loving bear' and a 'gentle giant,' Robinson was an honor student and an avid chess player who had been diagnosed with autism at a young age. He had recently started his first job and was excited about his newfound independence.

In December 2021, authorities announced the arrests of two suspects from Pemberton in connection with the murder. Sylas Young, then 19, and Kavon Carter, then 24, were charged with his death. The investigation determined their actions were an escalation of the ongoing dispute. Following a trial, both men were convicted on multiple counts, including first-degree murder and gang criminality. In February 2025, Kavon Carter was sentenced to 110 years in state prison, while Sylas Young received an 80-year term for their roles in the senseless killing. Young was also implicated in a separate shooting that injured a woman and a young child a week after Robinson's death.
